The information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Contact details, such as your name, email address and phone number, provided by phone, by email or in person.
- Enquiry information: the content of any message you send us.
- Health information: where you attend for a consultation or treatment, we collect relevant medical history and clinical information. Health information is "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act and is given a higher level of protection.
Please don't include sensitive medical details when contacting us. Those are best discussed privately during your consultation.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to respond to your enquiries, arrange and manage appointments, provide and follow up on care, maintain accurate clinical records, and meet our legal and professional obligations. We only use your information for the purpose for which it was provided, or a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect.
Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for marketing by others. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our email or website provider), with other healthcare providers involved in your care where appropriate, or where we are required or authorised to do so by law. Any health information is treated as strictly confidential.
Overseas disclosure. Some of the service providers we rely on to operate, such as our online payment, communications and software providers, may store or process your information outside Australia, in countries whose data protection laws may differ from Australia's. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. By making a payment, booking online, or otherwise providing your information to us, you consent to it being disclosed to and processed by these providers overseas for these purposes.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information we hold and to retain it only as long as required for the purposes above or by law.
