Good to know

Questions, answered

A few of the things people most often ask before their first visit. If your question isn't here, we're glad to answer it at your consultation.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes. A consultation and assessment with Dr Kirk is required before any treatment, so we can confirm what's suitable and safe for you. It's also your chance to ask anything, with no obligation to proceed.

Who will perform my treatment?

Your consultation, assessment and treatment are all carried out by Dr Michael Kirk (MBBS), AHPRA registration MED0001217081 — the doctor who assesses you is the doctor who treats you. You can read more about what doctor-led care means on our doctor-led page.

How much do treatments cost?

We're not able to publish prices for these treatments, as Australian regulations restrict how prescription treatments are advertised to the public. What we can tell you: a booking fee applies when you reserve your consultation, and it's credited towards the cost of any treatment you go ahead with. Your specific treatment and its cost are discussed and agreed privately at your consultation, before anything proceeds — never any pressure to commit.

Does it hurt?

Most people find these treatments very manageable. Discomfort is usually brief and minor, and it varies with the treatment and the area. We'll talk through what to expect, and what can be done to keep you comfortable, before we begin.

How soon will I see results, and how long do they last?

It depends on the treatment. Some effects appear within days; others build gradually over a course. Longevity varies from person to person, and we're wary of promising a fixed number — an honest estimate for your situation is part of your consultation. There's more in our guide to how long results last.

How long does an appointment take?

Your first visit is unhurried by design — enough time for a proper assessment, your questions, and treatment if you decide to proceed on the day. We'll give you a realistic idea of timing when you book.

Is there any downtime?

It varies by individual and treatment. Many people return to their day fairly quickly, though some temporary effects can occur. We'll explain what to expect for your specific plan during your consultation.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Life happens — just let us know as early as you reasonably can and we'll find another time. Your booking fee is explained in full when you book, so there are no surprises.

Is there a minimum age?

Yes. Hillview treats adults only — you'll need to be 18 or over. Suitability is always assessed individually at your consultation, regardless of age.

Will I look overdone?

That's exactly what we work to avoid. Our approach is deliberately conservative and tailored to your features, with the goal of a refreshed, natural-looking result that still looks like you.

Are these treatments safe?

All medical procedures carry some risk. Provided by a doctor after a proper assessment, cosmetic treatments are common, but they are not without risk — and we'll always explain the risks relevant to you in full before you decide anything. You can read more on our safety and informed consent page.

Why don't you list prices or product names?

Australian regulations limit how clinics can advertise prescription treatments to the public. Rather than skirt those rules, we discuss specific treatments, your suitability and pricing privately during your consultation, where advice can be accurate and individual.

How do I book?

You can get in touch here — call or send an enquiry, and we'll arrange a time that suits you.
