Wrinkle reduction

How we approach softening the lines of expression at Hillview, and what to expect, with the specifics reserved for your consultation.

Softening the lines of expression is one of the most common reasons people come to see us. This page explains, in general terms, how we approach it. If you'd like to understand the specific areas people ask about, frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet, our page on dynamic lines covers those in more detail.

What it's about

Lines that form with expression come from the repeated movement of the face. The aim is to soften how those lines look while keeping your natural expression. Any treatment is medical, and is provided only after a proper assessment.

How we approach it

Our approach is deliberately conservative. The goal is a softening rather than a loss of movement, a refreshed appearance that still looks like you. We'd rather begin gently and build gradually than overtreat, and we plan any treatment around your individual features and goals rather than a template.

  • A softening of the look of dynamic lines, not a frozen appearance
  • A plan built around your features, following assessment
  • Outcomes approached gradually and reviewed over time
  • An honest conversation about what is, and isn't, suitable for you

What to expect

Any effect develops over a period of days rather than immediately, is not permanent, and typically needs repeating over time to maintain. What's realistic for you, and whether treatment is appropriate at all, is something we'll discuss openly during your consultation.

Why there are no products or prices here

Australian regulations limit how clinics can advertise prescription treatments to the public. Rather than skirt those rules, we discuss specific treatments, your suitability and pricing privately during your consultation, where advice can be accurate and individual.

Risks and realistic expectations

Any treatment is a medical procedure and carries some risk. Depending on the individual, temporary effects such as redness, tenderness or bruising at the treated area can occur, and less common effects are possible; the risks relevant to you will be explained in full before you decide anything. Suitability can only be determined after a proper assessment by a registered medical practitioner, and individual results vary.
