Neck bands

Doctor-led anti-wrinkle treatment in Rockhampton for prominent neck bands, a considered approach to soften vertical neck cords, assessed by Dr Kirk.

With age or muscle activity, vertical cords can become visible down the front of the neck. These are the edges of the platysma, a broad, flat muscle across the neck, and when its activity is strong, the bands can stand out, particularly with movement or expression. A carefully placed anti-wrinkle treatment can soften their prominence.

The concern people describe

People describe visible “cords” or “bands” running down the neck, or a neck that looks less smooth than it once did. It's assessed individually, alongside the jawline and lower face, since these areas relate to one another.

How it's approached

Treatment relaxes the muscle activity that makes the bands prominent, softening their appearance. The neck is a more complex area than the upper face, so careful assessment and a conservative approach matter here in particular, and it's assessed as part of the broader picture of the jaw, chin and neck.

  • Directed at the muscle bands that stand out on the neck
  • Assessed alongside the jawline and lower face
  • A conservative approach, given the anatomy of the area
  • Develops gradually, and reviewed as we go

A doctor-led safeguard

The neck involves anatomy where careful, precise technique matters. Part of what a doctor-led setting offers is a single practitioner who assesses, plans and performs the treatment, accountable for it throughout.

Assessed, not assumed

Whether this suits you depends on your individual circumstances, which is what a consultation is for. Specific treatments, your suitability and pricing are discussed privately there.

Risks, recovery and realistic expectations

This is a medical procedure and carries some risk. Temporary effects such as tenderness or bruising can occur, and the neck requires particular care and conservative technique; the risks relevant to you will be explained in full beforehand. The effect is temporary and needs an ongoing approach to maintain. Individual results vary, and what's appropriate for you is determined only after a proper assessment.
