Lip filler

Lip filler uses a hyaluronic acid gel to add volume, definition or balance to the lips. It's one of the most requested cosmetic treatments, and one where a conservative, anatomically careful approach matters most. At Hillview, lip filler in Rockhampton is assessed and performed by Dr Kirk himself.

Lip filler vs lip flip

These are two different treatments, often confused. Lip filler adds volume and structure to the lips using hyaluronic acid gel. A lip flip uses a small amount of anti-wrinkle treatment to gently relax the upper lip so a little more of its border shows. It adds no volume. Which suits you, if either, is exactly the kind of thing worked out at a consultation.

How it's approached

The lips are a delicate, expressive area, so restraint matters. Our aim is a natural, proportionate result, maintaining the balance between upper and lower lip, preserving movement, and avoiding an overfilled look. Treatment is conservative and can be staged rather than done all at once.

A doctor-led safeguard

Lip treatment is a medical procedure, and rare but serious complications are possible. In a doctor-led setting, the same practitioner who assesses and treats you holds the training and on-site means to manage a complication should one arise.

Risks, recovery and realistic expectations

This is a medical procedure and carries some risk. Swelling is common after lip treatment, particularly in the first day or two, and tenderness or bruising can occur; less common complications are possible and will be explained in full beforehand. The effect is temporary and needs an ongoing approach to maintain. Individual results vary, and what's appropriate for you is determined only after a proper assessment.
